Force Testing - Medical Devices
Tensile, compression and torque tests are all important in the development of medical devices. Force and torque gauges combine with test stands to form measurement systems used by quality control, engineering, and manufacturing professionals throughout the medical industries. They are used in product validation and also to assess and ensure quality in production. All our gauges are supplied calibrated.
Tensile Testing Equipment

MET provides a complete range of test gauges and machines for product testing: joint strengths, material strength, insertion / removal forces, elasticity, compressibility and for performing package 'seal peel tests'.
Series 5 advanced digital force gauges are designed for tension and compression force testing in numerous applications across virtually every industry, with capacities from 0.12 lb to 500 lb (0.5 N to 2500 N). The gauges feature an industry-leading peak sampling rate of 7,000 Hz, producing accurate results even for quick-action tests. Accuracy is ±0.1% of full scale ±1 digit, and resolution is 1/5000. Data can be transferred to a PC or other data collector via USB, RS-232, Mitutoyo (Digimatic), or analog outputs.
On-board data memory for up to 1000 readings is included, as are statistical calculations and output to a PC. Integrated set points with indicators are ideal for pass-fail testing and for triggering external devices such as an alarm, relay, or test stand. The gauges are overload protected to 150% of capacity, and an analogue load bar is shown on the display for graphical representation of applied force.
The Series 5's averaging mode addresses the need to record the average force over time, useful in applications such as peel testing, while external trigger mode makes switch activation testing simple and accurate. An ergonomic, reversible aluminium design allows for hand held use or test stand mounting for more sophisticated testing requirements. Series 5 force gauges are directly compatible with Mark-10 test stands, grips, and software.

Motorised Test Stand

MET offers a wide range of vertical and horizontal motorised test stands for force and torque measurement. The primary advantage of motorised systems is providing constant test speed. Some models can be programmed for advanced test sequences to accommodate demanding applications. All motorized test stands carry the CE mark. Manual test stands are also available.
These adaptable test stands, for tension and compression testing applications up to 300 lb (1.5 kN), can be controlled from the front panel or via computer. The menu structure is intuitive allowing quick, simple set up and operation. A password can be programmed to prevent unauthorized changes.
With a rugged, modular design this test stand is a compelling solution for applications in laboratory and production environments.
The ESM301 allows a travel distance of 11.5", while the ESM301L features a travel distance of 18".
Torque Test

The BGI Force / Torque Gauge is a unique product which works in combination with a selection of interchangeable remote force and torque sensors. These sensors cover a variety of force measurement and torque measurement applications and are available in a broad range of capacities.
